Luz-Maritza Cordero was born Puerto Rico. She came to the USA in 1985 to attend college. In 1991 she graduated with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice from Iowa State University. In 1992 relocated to Chicago where she started her career in Social Services, Mental Health and Addictions. Shortly after, she won a full scholarship from Adler School of Professional Psychology where she earned a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 1995. In 1996 started her career as an educator as an adjunct faculty at St. Augustine College. In 2007 after a year as a fulltime faculty at St. Augustine College she was hire at Wright College as a full time faculty in the Social Science Department and as the coordinator of Addictions Studies at Wright College. She is also a licensed psychotherapist. |
